The 2007 Treasure Hunt Clues

May 21st through Monday June 4th 2007

In the 19th Ward is hidden a small Tupperware container under a Rock with a small X on it.  In the Tupperware container are 8 Keys and a logbook, Each key has a number on it.  If you find the container and there are any keys left in it, take one key. Again take only one key and leave the others. Sign in on the log book. Put the container and rock back just as you found them.  Each Key matches a lock at the YMCA and corresponds to a specific prize. When you present the correct key you will be awarded the matching prize, or a coupon to use to claim the prize. Prizes include a three month membership to the Southwest YMCA, a Spring Gardening Kit from Hunt’s Hardware, a Designer Oil from Paula’s, a Basketball from Jim Dalberth’s, a running shirt and matching hat from Jim Dalberth’s, three free oil and filter changes at Thurston Garage, a free lunch from El Latino, and a $25 cash prize from James Crowley Plumbing, Inc

To find the hidden treasure you need to collect information from throughout the 19th Ward, possibly browse the web, solve the following math problem, and then solve a puzzle to find the location of the hidden treasure. Good luck!

1.     Now find a street in the 19th Ward that runs from a male cow’s cranium to an Olmsted design.  The total of this math problem is the address on that Street closest to the treasure.

2.     To find the treasure at that address solve this riddle.

Not by something old

Not over nor under

Not in the front

Not in the gardens

Not to the SE or SW

Where could I be?

When you find the rock with an X look underneath. Log your visit. If there are any keys left take only one.  Try not to let anyone see what you are doing, as we only want true treasure hunters to find the keys.  Put the log book back in the container, and put the container back under the rock the way you found them.
